I own a Alto LXI vxi. I had a minor accident repair (rear Bumber+Dickey+Combination Lamp) at Popular vehicles Kollam on 26th Feb 2011 for body repairs work. They have delayed delivery for 2 weeks with lot of lame excuses like parts availability and labor availability. Finally my vehicle got ready to deliver on 12 march. That day was really painful for me. I noticed that they have spoiled my Alto in full. My car’s full paint is totally damaged (initially their argued that it is rusting spots. Later they admitted that it is paint drops small paint droplets that come and stick on surface from painting of other vehicles openly). I told them to rectify that. They rubbed the surface which was full of dust with some compound and made it full of scratches. Later I found some irregularities in the right side of bumper. And dents inside car were also not rectified. Marks of accident are visible they have just painted the area without correcting dents. I complained to Maruti thru email. The next day a person named Shine called me and promised to deliver it on next day evening. As per his call I went to the workshop. As a result of my complaint the situation becomes worse. Dickey is started touching bumper. I projected those issues to Maruti. I contacted Mrs Nisha (Manager Kollam Office). Showed her all these problems. She apologized and promised me that she would change those things and will apply good quality paint and will apply Teflon coat. She promised me that she would take care of this and asked me not to send complaints again. I agreed. They corrected issues after two days and I agreed to sign their satisfaction voucher as I didn’t notice any more issues. I thought they have corrected the issues as I have made complaints to Maruti. I paid the money 5200 (Balance amount of Rs 21000 will be Settled by insurance company) and took delivery. Next day I tried to open Dickey it’s not opening. Finally I opened but my key got bend a bit. I ignored that issue. In the evening I accidently noticed that running board is still damaged they just covered with plastic panels’. I decided to make a detailed investigation in day light. I have found the following problems. 1) Visible marks of accident on running board. 2) auto cop security system is not functioning On off switch of auto cop security system (Dickey Side) is not fixed. (Previously it was working fine. popular technicians forgot to fix it after repair work) 3) Unable to open/ close dickey (clock and sticker is not fixed properly) 4) dickey is located to right side (Poor alignment) 5) Rear Right Door is not closing properly (running board Issues+ Door Alignment) 6) left Side Mud Flap is damaged (Accident happened to right side only). I demand a perfect repair work from another competent dealer.

Popular auto is a very big concern and they are the largest in south India and they own over six different showrooms for a huge variety of cars. I had a very good experience with the company. I wanted a car and preferably a family car. I was suggested various cars by all my friends. They were many high end cars but I needed it only for occasional use. I approached the popular autos and they showed me the versa and the omni which were both ideal for big family size. I liked the versa very much but it was beyond my budget. The showroom manager told me that if I had concerns I could wait for a few months and that Maruti was looking to launch a new car designed like the versa but at the cost of the omni.
