Recently one of my Uncles visited me from Europe and he praised lufthansa a lot for the ambience that they provided. It was a last minute flight and there were no other flights till the next day. He was helped a lot by the ticketing and the cabin crew and the freebies offered on board were also of very good quality. He also mentioned that the hospitality of the crew members was appreciable. An air hostess offered to take care of a baby while his mom was attending to her business. The child really troubled her a lot and she took it all with a smile. The pilots were extremely well trained and there was not even a sign of any kind of jerk during landing and take off. Also, the in flight tv and music were provided to everyone and the seats were larger than most commercial airline seats. It was a very comfortable flight.

Lufthansa has considerably disappointed me. I am a senator with them with my miles and more card number 2220 1313 7429 341. They had whisked away 50,000 of my miles when I flew in April of 2009. In July 2009 I filed a complained against this with the customer relationship via email with read receipt and delivery receipt enabled. The email was remaining in their mail box for over six months and I got a read receipt from the email server saying that the email was deleted without being read on January 7, 2010. If as their top tier customers, Senator, this is the treatment I get for my complaints, what would be the level of treatment they give to their regular unprivileged customers?

This airline resorts to really shameful behavior. I recently flew from Chennai to Washington DC via Frankfurt. In the peak winter they stopped the jet around 500 meters from the airport in Frankfurt and had a bus pick up the passengers in Frankfurt. Frankfurt being the hub of their flights, how could they do this? Couldnt they arrange a walkway for an Airbus 340, ie around 200 passengers? It was freezing outside and they ensured all the passengers endured a lot of the frost before they got into the bus. Of course, why would the Germans care a flying squirrel about a few passengers from Chennai freezing in the darn sub zero degree and snow of Frankfurt. Anyway I decided this is the last time I fly Lufthansa EVER.

Lufthansa is disgusting as an airline. I cant believe they do business in India with this attitude towards Indians. The flight attendants really have disgust on their face when dealing with Indians. This is the same if you fly economy, business or first class. I travelled last night and I was shocked with their attitude. If you are an indian, they will shove a vegetarian meal on your face. They would not even ask what meal I need. If you are white skinned, they will give a choice. I specifically asked for a window seat, and they said it was completely taken. The white couples standing behind me in the line in the checkin counter were all given a window seat next to me, after having denied me a window seat. I will NEVER fly again with them ever again.

Lufthansa is the biggest racist airlines in the world. As an Indian, you are treated like shit on these flights. The aircrafts to India are literally dumpyard grade, with no facilities such as in seat entertainment, extremely dirty toilets and the tackiest seats. Lufthansa believes that european travellers will anyway travel business class and Indians in the cattle class. Sorry to say, but german efficiency is not apparent in the fact that the economy class is treated, kept and classified as a cattle shed.

I was actually overwhelmed when I boarded the flight for the first time. Being an Indian, I always thought these European airlines are not an Indians thingy for our comforts and tastes. But I was proven totally wrong after I saw excellent hospitality and services by the crew. They are maintaining a high level of hygiene and the food is also awesome

On reaching FRA from IAD, the cabin crew suddenly found my hand carriage too heavy. Since I was a senator, they said they will upgrade me so that the luggage would be taken care off. I was charged 50,000 miles for the upgrade.. 15K higher than norm..

I am in the senator status. I can upgrade a intercontinental two way economy ticket to a business class ticket with 2 upgrade vouchers according to their website. On actual approaching the desk, staff tells me I need 4 vouchers to upgrade one leg....
