Tata Motors Limited is Indias largest automobile company. Tata Motors presence indeed cuts across the length and breadth of India. Over 4 million Tata vehicles ply on Indian roads, since the first rolled out in 1954. Tata is also focusing on environment-friendly technologies in emissions and alternative fuels. It offers Indigo (Indigo XL, Indigo SX, Indigo CS) sedan that has total comfort and luxury coupled with maximum safety. The Indigo is great value for money and is available in petrol and diesel with a 1405 cc engine that generates 85bhp. The Indigo is built on a steel monologue frame that has passed European standards of crash tests as well as endurance safety tests. In India the Indigo is available in three versions namely the Indigo, Indigo Marina (Station Wagon) and Indigo XL. The trim levels available are GLS, GLX, LS DICOR, LS TDI, LX TDI, CS LS DICOR, CS LE TDI and CS LS TDI for the Indigo. For Indigo XL the trim levels available are Petrol Grand and DICOR Grand

I purchased Tata Indigo CS GLX (Petrol) on 16th Oct., 2009, Financed through HDFC Bank for 4 years. I am paying EMI of Rs. 8954/-, problem arises from 1STyear itself. Details of the vehicle are TATA INDIGOCS GLX – LTD. VERSION (PETROL) – 2009 MODEL, DATE OF PURCHASE : 16TH OCT., 2009, DEALER : A-ONE MOTORS ( ELEGANT MOTORS, PAPADGANJ, NEW DELHI), CHASIS NO : MAT6016539WH32399, ENGINE NO.: 475SI56HQZP83687, Accessories : Music System with two front speakers, took kit, wheel wrench etc, Finance : HDFC BANK FOR 4 YEARS 12% P.A. (LOAN AMOUNT 3.40 LAKHS). The problems I faced are within short span of one year alternator had to be changed, originally fitted/provided Exide battery has worn out and had to be changed. In the second year Front window (steering side) part had to be changed. Air circulator makes noise once it was switched off. Exhaust/ radiator keep running for about 20-30 minutes even after closure of the vehicle (keys removed). Check engine keeps glowing. Originally bought stereo gives current leakage problem. Within short period of two years I had to call up at least 30-40 times “on road service” to start my vehicle and visit the workshop. On trying to get an exchange offer of December, 2011, I was shocked with the evaluation price of my vehicle done by TATA authorized workshop as Rs. 70,000/- only. If TATA can itself quote only Rs. 70000/- for its vehicle whose original cost is Rs. 4.5 lakhs, whose installments still are being paid. My humble request is kindly refund my money as early as possible as I cannot take any more burden and harassment of talking to workshop people explaining my problems again and again with no proper solution. I personally feel I am being harassed by TATA being a lady owner with minimum knowledge of vehicle parts, but have been driving the vehicles (Maruti, Hyundai) for almost 7 years now (including TATA for last 2 years).

I had purchased Tata Indigo Manza on 4th Dec-09 from Sai Motors Kanpur. Vehicle registration number is UP 35 N 8853. My car met with an accident on Jul-10. All the repair work was done by Tata authorized dealer M/s Society motors Kanpur. After repair I had found the trouble in pickup and I had again registered my complaint. Again repair done but problem remain the same (Also called Tata On road service).I am working in Faridabad, Haryana so that it was necessary for me to come and join the company in Faridabad. So that I had taken my car and came back to Faridabad. On my third service I had registered same complain in Triumph Auto(Authorized dealer in Faridabad) after service, problem was same. Again I had registered the complaint, that time the service advisor suggested me to done the 4th service, as per him the problem will resolve after 4th service. My 4th service was not due, but I agreed over the service and I had paid 11000 rupees, but problem remain same. When I went to take my car that time the manager says that the Turbo is faulty and need to replace. I said ok, car is under warranty please replace. He said no, Turbo Have dent mark so that warranty laps and it will cannot be replaced in warranty. I had registered with Tata motors Customer care, but my problem is as it was. Tata Consumer Complaint numbers are.1-13068034379 and 1-13288377518. I want them to repair the defect free of cost.

I have purchased a Tata Indigo XL Dicor Classic in January, 2008 from SRMT in Visakhapatnam. My car registration no is AP31 AW 0060. Right from the beginning my car has been having repeated problems with the injectors. A brief history of the problem. 1. 7/11/08 injectors leak and injectors have been changed. 2. 27/12/08 injectors leak and washers have been changed 3 .4/6/09 injectors leak and entire head has been replaced. 4. 13/8/09 injectors leak and washers have been changed. 5. 24/7/10 injectors leak and washers have been changed. 6. 24/9/10 injectors leak and injector and washers have been replaced. 7. 11/3/11 injectors leak and washers have been changed. 8. 22/7/11 injectors leak and entire head has been replaced. 9. Sometime in 2009 the car stalled because of injector failure and the injectors have been replaced. 10. Many more instances of washers being changed. From the above it can be observed that 1. head was replaced twice over a period of 31/2 years which I think is not normal, 2. injectors have been replaced at least on three occasions. 3.injector washers have been replaced countless number of times. I have been complaining about this problem to the Tata motors through their toll free no, and the grievance box on their website. Every time I complain, I am directed to the service station for the necessary repairs and every time the problem keeps repeating. I have been undergoing a lot of mental trauma and discomfort due to the fact that my car has to be taken to the service station so many times other than the regular services, and being left without a car for many days to resolve the problem, and the cost of consumables and repair so far, because of warranty coverage, I have been saved from massive bills, but what is my fate after the warranty expires in Jan 2012??. From the above, it is clear that I was sold a car with a defective engine and injection system. I want them to replace the car.

My name is Mohd Ateeq. I purchased a Tata indigo car from Autofin Hyderabad in 2008. The vehicle number is AP 9 BQ 6487. After 3 years when I wanted to sell my car I got a shock of my life when I was told that the car is damaged and all major parts of my car are replaced by the manufacturer during this 3 years. I used my car very carefully without a scratch so there is no scope for any accidents or major repairs. When I approached Autofin they denied any access to the information of car as they are no more dealers of Tata motors they can’t help me. When I approached Tata motors head office in Hyderabad they are not co operating with any sharing information, apart from showing any sympathy and helping me out with the situation. Instead they are asking me stupid questions like what all I was doing all this 3 years. Mr Srinivas some manager clearly told me to go to any extent as they will not entertain such complaints. My query is when I buy a brand new car from the showroom and being a normal man I can’t see that doors are changed unless it is a physical damage. You cant inspect the vehicle as a mechanic. It is only when I went for my car valuation I came to know about the internal damages of my car since delivered to me. I want to file a cheating case upon auto fin India ltd and Tata motors India ltd for cheating me by selling me damaged car by taking a price of new car. I want them to refund the money I have paid.

As mentioned, I purchased a TATA INDIGO DICOR LXI on 28th Feb 2008. During the same time last year, car engine half block casting went for a toss, leaving me stranded on the Udaipur-Kota Highway. Then the car was taken for repairs at Chambal Motors, Kota. I have requested them to give full engine in the extended warranty. At that time the car was just 19 months old. But unfortunately on my part, they replaced engines half block only. And I was assured that the functions of the other parts will not be affected due to the change of the half block. As such, I have come to know through reliable source that DICOR engine of TATA has failed across. On 15th October 2010, I started my car from the parking and just came down 0.5 kms and halted to meet one of my friends. When I started the car, there was a noise coming out of it. So, I stopped the engine and called the Dealer Workshop where my car is regularly serviced. They came and towed the vehicle to the workshop at Aslali, Ahmedabad. Later after two days, I was verbally informed that my engines head has gone for a toss, because of timing belt got burnt. My vehicle was serviced by Cargo Motors Limited less than a month ago. After a week, I am informed that since the oil was not changed at their dealership, the extended warranty is void. Thank God that the TATAs do not sell petrol.. In fact, I have gone to the workshop time and again to get the oil changed, but every time I was told that they do not have time right now. We will call up and get vehicle. And finally a day came, when I had to rush for an emergency to another place which is 350kms far away from Ahmedabad. So, I as a good driver went to a petrol pump to have the oil, brake oil, coolant checked. At that time, I was told by the petrol pump person that the oil needs to be changed. I got the oil changed. I have bill for the same too. Please let me know my fault. In fact, after that my vehicle had gone for servicing. At that time also, I told them that if you feel that oil needs to be changed, please change it.

I purchased the said car INDIGOXL Classic from IBMotors Jamnagar. Though Dealer was crook but the vehicle is the best I could ever had in that budget. My wife had a mindset that TATA cars become scrap after few years and I was too apprehensive. But we ended up in buying it. In 1.5 years I have travelled from Jammu to Kanyakumari and all by my Car, driven myself and hired a driver too but touchwood, there is no problem at all. Very spacious and one can be assured that there will be no fatigue when long distances are covered. I drove from Jamnagar to Mumbai non stop (880KM) and we were fresh. The car has all the modern features. A magazine said that interiors are cheap. Well I do not agree. They are OK! But mileage is the best. I got 26.667KMPL (on diesel) on the same route (w/o AC) and with AC I get around 24.80 KMPH. After sales is best. I had a problem with coolant leakage in middle of nothing. Just called helpline and they send vehicle from 150 KM away and helped without charging

The car has a 1405cc 4 cylinder petrol engine which delivers 85 Bhp. The car has a 5 speed manual gear system. There has been safety issues with Indigo LX, a car caught fire during the drive back from the service station. The problem was found to be an electrical short circuit. Though the problem was caused by the service person the company refused a replacement. The car has a very decent look but the front bonnet design looks similar to that of an Indica. The company doe not design new designs and it is quite sometime it modifies the same design again and again. The customer service is pathetic and it is not a good idea to buy a Tata product.

Tata Indigo LX 2004 model caught fire during a drive back home after service at Kottayam. The news came in Mathrubhoomi newspaper 16th may 2009. I have had enough of trouble with this car. One must never buy a car from Tata motors. The engine got fire after I reached the speed of 75 Km. The car came to a halt and I saw thick black smoke coming out of the dashboard. The whole car caught fire with an explosion. After lot of efforts we stopped the fire from reaching the fuel tank. The fire service were called to extinguish the flames and the service personnel came and took my vehicle to the service center. The service center estimates around 2 lacs for rebuilding the car. It is weird how the fire broke and the service personnel are still wondering. If this is the customer support, what is the point in buy this car?

The dealers of Tata Indigo have no manners. They are very ruthless while talking to the customers. After few days of purchase of Tata Indigo, the headlights stopped working. When i went to the showroom, everyone in the staff accepted that the headlights were damaged at the time of delivery. When i took this matter to the AGM of the showroom, he spoke very rudely to me for 3 hours. As i m a business man, i cannot afford to loose my precious time in such cases.
