The Mahindra Scorpio is a Sport utility vehicle manufactured by Mahindra and Mahindra Limited. It is the first SUV from the company for the global market. The Scorpio has been successfully accepted in international markets where it has been recently launched. The Scorpio was conceptualized and designed by the in-house integrated design and manufacturing (IDAM) team of M&M. It is available in India in the following variants; 2.6 LX CRDe, 2.6 SLE CRDe, 2.2 VLS mHawk M/T, 2.2 VLS mHawk A/T, 2.2 VLX mHawk M/T, 2.2 VLX mHawk A/T, and 2.6 CRDe Getaway 4x2.

I completely agree with the previous review. Scorpio is awesome. I bought a 2.6 LX CRDe in 2006 May. I still own it as it is the most reliable car I have in my garage. Maintainance is really low, because I guess Mahindra vehicles run on the tractors spare parts :) Comfort is excellent and driving is great in a city. I would rather drive this massive SUV than any smaller car due to the ease of maneuvering in the city. I think the only two things I would change in the vehicle are 1. I would love a 4X4 or an all wheel drive. Mine unfortunately is a 4X2. 2. I think adding a sixth gear should be fine as when I top out at 150 Kmph, I think the vehicle wants to do more and the fifth gear simply is a noose around the horses neck. Anyway, Mahindras, good job on this one.

Scorpio is an excellent vehicle. I have a 2006 pre m hawk model and I have been using it pretty roughly for the past four years. The vehicle has not given me a single reason for complaint till now. Of course the wear and tear is there but I hardly feel it because Mahindras spare parts are so cheap. It is at a price that is unbelievable. You can get a full loaded Scorpio for less than 10 lakhs. The respect you command on the streets is just unbelievable. Nobody will mess with you unless and until they are driving a Hummer, but then again who is gonna run a 60 lakher against a 10 lakher heh heh. The only unpleasantry is that it is definitely a fuel drinking monster. Although claims are that it can do 15 km a liter, expect right smack half of it. If you get over 8 kmpl you are one of the lucky ones. I am hearing about the semi hybrids... but I am yet to hear any good opinion about these. Can anyone share their experience with the micro hybrids please?

Scorpio is a great SUV for those who prefer comfort and rash driving. Maintenance cost is not that high but the cost of driving it is high. In the sense, it drinks more fuel that it very often visits petrol bunks. This car is not for those who look for fuel economy

Having owned one for 3 years now, I would never part with it. Exceptional vehicle for the Indian roads. If only the mileage could be a little better...
