| Classified as a luxury Sports Activity Coupe, the BMW X6 can be considered the newest evolution of the mid-size SUV family. This hybrid combines the attributes of an SUV and a coupe. It is built in Spartanburg, SC, USA along with its sibling the BMW X5. In India, it is available in two variants the 2993cc I6, xDrive30d and the 4395cc V8, xDrive50i. Each engine is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission that is all wheel drive (4X4). BMW has introduced its DPC (Dynamic Performance Control) system equipped to work in unison with its xDrive transmission, to regulate the drive train and chasis for precise traction / torque capable of negotiating multiple terrains. With respect to ecology, BMW will introduce an active hybrid mode in this vehicle enabling the driver to use either fuel, electricity or both to curtail emissions.
