Complaint 1 Year ago by PSRaoCSL 4.50
As Andhra Bank savings Bank account holder, I have been offered in Aug 2004 by the Andhra Bank Waltair Branch, Visakhapatnam, a medical insurance product called, AB AROGYADAAN, in collaboration with United India Insurance company limited. Andhra Bank have also a mandate of standing instructions to deduct insurance premium on the due date. Myself (age 58 years)and my wife Mrs Girija (age 52 years) have been admitted as members from 20-8-2004, with UHID numbers FHAU 0000198495, F.No 427376, and FHAU 0000198494, F.No 427375. Without inhibitions Andhra Bank and UIIC ltd collected premium on an insured amount of Rs 50,000 per annum. The reason I am now complaining against Andhra Bank and United India Insurance company limited is after claiming and taking the annual premium for 3 consecutive years i.e years. 20-8-2004 to 8-6-2005, 9-6-2005 to 8-6-2006 and 19-6-2006 - 18-6-2007. They failed to renew our medical insurance policy for 19-6-2007 - 18-6-2008 automatically, though Andhra Bank Waltair Branch, Visakhapatnam , had standing instructions to deduct annual premium from my declared SB account on the due date and pay United India Insurance company limited. Both United India Insurance co. ltd. and Andhra Bank failed to send me on time the premium payment notice asking for my involvement in payment of premium, which is also their responsibility. Both United Insurance company, Andhra Bank and their third party Family health plan limited kept silent because as per the rules then after 3 consecutive years of payment the policy holder gets medical reimbursement for existing illness also. The cancellation of medical policy for delay is ridiculous and should have charged interest for delayed period. This is sheer cheating of the customer as it amounted to taking premium and then saying I have lost my eligibility for medical claim. I have been misled by Andhra Bank by saying they are discussing with UIICLtd for acceptance of delayed payment interest, like any insurance policies. They broke the chain deliberately and readmitted us into scheme 22-11-2008 with insurance amount raised to Rs 2,00,000 and higher premium . For more than a year from 19-6-2007 to 22-11-2008 and till date Andhra Bank and United India Insurance company have failed to make payments to my medical bills by not providing me with Pre-authorization letters , saying there is break of policy. The 3rd party now Good Health Plan Ltd, is not aware of this as they are late entrants and the earlier 3rd party FHPL are now replaced. The reason for break is also due to this change by Andhra Bank in the year 19-6-2007 to 18-6-2008. I want the company to renew my policy and authorize my medical bills.
