Indian rupee has been the worst performing currency in Asia in 2011 as it has fallen by 15. Consumers are getting frustrated due to the inflation in fuel prices, interest rates and cost of consumer durables. Increasing the cost of the products has caused an impact on the companys sales but it was a necessity to maintain the margins. Weakening of rupee also poses another threat which is costly loans provided by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

India Trims Growth Forecast and Raises Interest...

The inflation forecast was raised to 8.5 from 7.8 in March by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) which in turn will be 6 the following year. Increasing the interest rates will slow Indias growth. It was forecasted by the world bank that the Indias economy will have slower growth rate (7 - 8) in the next couple of years.
